Reports of FOKCMC Activities

The Great Scottish Walk 10th June 2007

 

Five Friends of KCMC met up to combine sightseeing round Edinburgh with fund-raising for the ventures we support at KCMC. It was exhilarating to march between two pipe bands under the shadow of Arthur’s Seat and to warm up “egged on” by a man-sized chicken on a double-decker bus.

As the 3900+ walkers variously strode, ambled and hobbled the twelve miles around the city, we passed and were passed by supporters of many different charities. Most were wearing fancy dress or their own organisation’s T-shirts and enjoying meeting each other and finding out about each others’ good causes.

Thanks to our sponsors, the walk raised about £2000 (including Gift Aid) for FOKCMC. And as you can see, the walkers were all the better for it too.
